Majorca or Mallorca, whichever way you prefer to spell it, and however you wish to pronounce it, it is the largest of Balearic Islands, and along with its sister islands of Menorca and Ibiza, lies in the Mediterranean Sea off the South East coast of mainland Spain.
Flying time from the UK into Son Sant Joan, the main tourist airport at Palma, is between 2 to 2.5 hours, which for most of us is less time than it takes to drive around the M25. On arrival local time is +1 hour GMT.
Since the onset of mass tourism in the 1960's, Majorca has grown into the number one choice for British tourists looking for Mediterranean sun, and today the island attracts over 6 million visitors per year with an unrivalled choice of over 1,000 hotels and apartments to suit all budgets. With the increased availability of budget airline flights to the island, coupled with our accommodation, you can expect a great getaway for a fraction of the cost of the main stream brochures.
To most people the very mention of a holiday to Majorca conjures up all too familiar images of Magaluf, Palmanova and the popular resorts along the south coast of the island, and in all fairness these resorts are quite lively and in the summer months, are more suited for groups of young singles, or those families seeking an active nightlife.
Of course we recognise that today there is nowhere on Majorca still waiting to be 'discovered', and that even the tiniest remotest villages are now heavily dependent the islands tourist industry, but move way from the traditional resorts, and you will find a Majorca completely at odds with its popular image of sun, sea and sand.
